ReefKeeper educates about the marine environment through classroom visits and field trips to the Cayes (islands), teacher training, and internship programs to promote conservation and protection of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef and coastal habitats near South Water Caye Marine Reserve in Belize. We educate Belizean students about the importance of the reef, mangroves, and seagrass to promote conservation and actions that directly help the marine environment.
Belizeans living richer and more fulfilled lives in harmony with the marine environment.
Our mission is to promote awareness and stewardship of the Belize Barrier Reef and coastal habitats through experiential marine environmental education programs for Belizean students and teachers and to offer local internships that create conservation opportunities for youth.
